Hi there!
I am Brooke Hayum Mueller, a cinematographer based in Los Angeles and a Local 600 camera operator, originally from Chisago City, Minnesota. Growing up playing sports and watching my dad race late models, I developed a deep appreciation for movement. I am passionate about using movement as a tool to capture the emotion of a story.
In 2017, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue cinematography. In 2020, my first feature film as a cinematographer had its premiere at the acclaimed Santa Barbara International Film Festival. After graduating AFI with an MFA in cinematography and a Student Emmy Nomination for our thesis film, I was selected to be an ASC Vision Mentee. These experiences have helped sharpen my creative voice and professionalism.
As a former athlete, I love the collaborative nature of filmmaking. For me, great visual storytelling isn’t just about crafting beautiful images—it’s about the energy and teamwork that bring a vision to life. I enjoy working with fellow storytellers to create compelling narratives with impactful visuals. I’m always looking to bring my unique perspective to each project and help it bloom.
